Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, followed up, through the results of the tours, the progress of work on the expansion projects of Sheikh Zayed City with an area of approximately 8,336 acres "New Zayed", in which drinking water and sewage lines and networks and main roads are being implemented, with the aim of providing an integrated urban community.

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny explained that the expansion area is located in the western extension of Sheikh Zayed City, and is considered a new extension of the city, and that area has been planned to ensure the accommodation of various activities (residential - service - commercial - entertainment).
The Minister of Housing stressed the continuation of pushing forward work on the projects being implemented in the area, and adhering to the timetables and standard specifications of the projects, as well as overcoming any obstacles that may face implementation.

In the same context, Eng. Ahmed Ali, Assistant Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority for the Utilities Sector, made a field visit to review the latest developments in the implementation of vital utilities and road projects in the expansions of Sheikh Zayed City by Republican Decree No. 77 of 2017 "New Zayed", in the presence of Eng. Marwa Hussein Amin, Chairman of the City Authority, and officials of the Authority and projects.
The tour included inspecting the 1200 mm diameter water line from the water purification station, which is an important step to provide regular water in the expansion area, as well as inspecting the connection works of the line to the water purification station, where the implementation of (95%) of the water lines (1200 mm diameter, 900 mm diameter, and 800 mm diameter) has been completed, with a total length of 25 km, which will supply various projects in the city expansions with high-quality pure water.
The tour also included inspecting road works, which include the construction of main axes in the expansion area, which represent main arteries for traffic, as roads with a width of up to 50 meters are being implemented, and all roads are scheduled to be completed within a year and a half, with the aim of supporting the infrastructure in the area.
With regard to sewage lines, sewage project lines with diameters of 1400 mm, 1200 mm, 1100 mm, and 1000 mm are being implemented with depths ranging from 4 to 10 meters for the entire southern extension area of the city.
At the end of the visit, the speed and quality of the work being implemented was emphasized, and the importance of making maximum efforts to ensure the achievement of development goals in the expansion area by providing good infrastructure.
