Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund, confirmed that the "Housing for All Egyptians" project aims to provide decent housing for low- and middle-income people.
During a phone call to the "Kol El Zawaya" program, on "ON" satellite channel, Abdel Hamid pointed out that since the launch of the project in 2014, 18 advertisements have been launched, with the number of applicants exceeding one million and seven hundred thousand people.
Abdel Hamid explained that 605 thousand families have been delivered their housing units, which means that more than three million citizens are now living in their new homes.
She confirmed that all the housing units that were built with an area of 90 square meters are fully finished and ready for immediate housing, with all necessary services available.
Abdel Hamid continued by saying that the units were distributed across the republic, with 85% of them built in new cities and 15% in urban areas within the governorates, according to the availability of land.
She pointed out that this project is part of the state's strategy to expand the urban area and increase the populated areas, which rose from 7% at the beginning of the project to about 13% or more currently.
