A recent report indicated that Egypt has become one of the top 5 destinations for private investment in the African continent, as it acquired a large share of investments in the third quarter of 2024.
This includes the five largest economies in Africa, namely: Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, and Ghana, which together acquired 85% of total private investment in that period.
According to the “Business Africa” platform, 73 deals were recorded in the private market during the third quarter of 2024, 39 deals were announced with a total value of $ 2.27 billion.
With regard to the North Africa region, the data showed that Egypt controlled 93% of all deals in the region, making it the most prominent and attractive country for investments in this region. While Morocco came in second place, contributing only 21% of the region’s deals.
In South Africa, it controlled 73% of the region’s deals, while Kenya was the leader in East Africa, contributing to 80% of the region’s deals.
