The New Urban Communities Authority has decided to exempt industrial facilities affiliated with the Authority in new cities from paying financial claims for increasing the water quota over the design quota according to the Egyptian code for previous consumption periods for industrial investors who apply to regularize their status by increasing the water quota and submit the necessary declaration and pledge to commit to paying financial claims according to the results of the study by the city authority within 6 months. The Authority calls for dealing with all existing factories that withdraw quantities in excess of the permitted water quotas according to the controls issued by the Board of Directors, noting that in the event that water quotas are discovered to be in excess of the permitted quotas with the actual readings or consumption bills after the expiry of the specified period without a prior request from the management of the industrial facility, the Authority also decided that in this case, 15% of the calculated value will be added for those increases in exchange for reconciliation on that violation.
