The exchange rates of the US dollar against the pound in banks witnessed a decline at the beginning of trading on Thursday 8/22/2024, recording an average exchange rate of 48.74 pounds for purchase and 48.84 pounds for sale. The Central Bank had issued a decision to allow the exchange rate to be determined according to market mechanisms, and unifying the exchange rate is considered a very important measure, as it contributes to eliminating the accumulation of demand for foreign currency following the closing of the gap between the official and parallel market exchange rates.
