The exchange rates of major Arab and foreign currencies in banks witnessed a variation at the beginning of trading on Sunday 18-8-2024, within the framework of the Central Bank of Egypt's decision to allow the exchange rate to be determined according to market mechanisms.

 

Unifying the exchange rate is considered a very important measure, as it contributes to eliminating the accumulation of demand for foreign currency following the closing of the gap between the official and parallel market exchange rates.

 

Average exchange rates of major currencies:

 

US Dollar

The average exchange rate of the green currency witnessed a decrease to record 48.83 pounds for purchase and 48.97 pounds for sale.

 

British Pound

The average exchange rates of the British pound recorded 62.77 pounds for purchase and 62.95 pounds for sale.

 

Euro

The euro prices recorded 54.77 pounds for purchase and 53.93 pounds for sale.

 

Saudi Riyal

The exchange rate of the Saudi Riyal recorded 13.01 pounds for purchase and 13.05 pounds for sale.

 

Kuwaiti Dinar

The Kuwaiti Dinar exchange rate against the pound was 159.61 pounds for purchase and 160.18 pounds for sale

 

UAE Dirham

The average exchange rate of the UAE Dirham was 13.29 pounds for purchase and 13.33 pounds for sale
